Perkembangan teknologi terkadang bisa membuat manusia merasa bingung. Bukankah teknologi seharusnya membantu manusia. Tapi kalo teknologi terlalu banyak membantu terus tugas manusia jadi akan semakin malas. Bahkan di film Ron Horward terakhir Angels & Demons kadang peran teknologi dan sains digambarkan dengan sangat extrim. Kemampuan manusia untuk menciptakan substansi yang sangat dasar ini ditakutkan akan mengurangi Keberadaan Tuhan alih-alih MengagungkanNya.
Teknologi seharusnya membantu manusia, bukan membuat manusia semakin malas dan menjadi sombong. Tapi Teknologi seharusnya bisa membuat manusia bisa mengerjakan lebih baik, menarik batas lebih jauh, membuat manfaat dan makna lebih dalam, dan memahami keberadaanya lebih tinggi. Dari hal-hal ini yang menegaskan lagi ke “iman” an ku tentang teknologi, sains dan apa yang aku kukerjakan dalam hidupku.
Aku membanyangkan suatu titik manusia akan mengerti kenapa kita menghabiskan waktu kita untuk bekerja dan berkarya. Bukan hanya mengejar keuntungan finansial, ketenaran, kebanggaan dan pengakuan. Tapi titik ini kita akan membuat kita sadar bahwa kita mengambil peran penting dalam penciptaan dunia ini. Peran kita menjadi co- Creator dari Sang Maha Pencipta. Menjadi hamba yang ditugaskan oleh Nya mengungkap dan mewujudkan hal-hal luarbiasa yang telah Ia ciptakan.
Karena disanalah Ia memberikan kita bakat dan kekuatan, untuk masuk dan terlibat dalam proses penciptaan ini. Untuk mengambil peran yang telah disediakanNya sesuai dengan “modal” yang telah kita miliki. Memanfaatkan modal itu sebaik-baiknya sesuai TitahNya, menurutku adalah bentuk Syukur yang paling dalam.
Karena dengan perspektif dan paradigman seperti ini seharusnya kita tidak akan lagi bermasalah dengan konflik antara keimanan dan kemajuan teknologi dan sains.
